ChaCo are having a public consultation and are inviting people to see the plans.
The consultation is 3pm–8pm, Wed 15 March 2017, Roscoe Methodist, Francis St, LS7 4BZ.
Here is what they have to say:
“Since 2010, ChaCo has been sounding out people and groups in this area about the idea of setting up a cohousing community.
This is real community-led housing: residents of Chapeltown deciding for ourselves what sort of housing we need and then finding others to help us make our dream a reality.
Together with Unity Housing, in the next month or so we’ll be buying some of the land at the junction of Roundhay Rd and Barrack Rd and applying for planning permission. If all goes well, we’ll start building before the end of 2017.
We’re inviting everyone in the neighbourhood to drop in and see us at Roscoe Methodist Church anytime between 3pm and 8pm on Wed 15 March 2017.
You’ll be able to study the plans, ask questions and maybe give us valuable feedback.
This is good quality, affordable, low-energy housing – designed by Chapeltown people for the benefit of Chapeltown people. Come and
see for yourself!”
